Injection moulding with our injection moulding machine

A few years ago, we developed a tri-axial servo-robot steered by separate controls, for the injection moulding machine of the brand BOY, for instance, type 30M.

The use of durable and light materials for the manufacture of our robot for the injection moulding machine produces a faster and more accurate machine. This allows for a short pick time. Consequently, a shortened pick time ensues which greatly shortens the cycle time. For the transport of the products, we work with a tray system on which the injection moulding machine places the products. Of course, it is possible to use a conveyor belt instead of trays.

Picking and transporting

The picking tools of the injection moulding machine are driven pneumatically. The product is removed from the mould by means of vacuum cups or grippers and then placed on a tray standing by at that moment (delivery tray or plate). The trays are unstacked and stacked with pneumatic or servo cylinders, followed by their placement in the designated location by a conveyor belt. This process is controlled by a SIGMATEK PLC.

Software programming

We develop the operating software for the components of the injection moulding machine ourselves and this allows for user-programmable controls of the robot. In practice, this means that the robot can randomly perform various steps, in contrast with many other programmes that have a set programme/pick cycle. This makes the machine flexible to use and easy to reprogram by the user.

By combining this with the use of servo-motors, the injection moulding machine gets even more freedom of movement. Repeat positioning is possible up to 0.05 mm.

Safety through safety fencing

We deliver matching safety fencing along with all our injection moulding machines and systems.
For safety concerning the injection moulding machine, we also provide safety fencing for existing or new injection moulding machines. Basically, these safety fences are made of aluminium frames in which Lexan or mesh can be installed. In short, safe, durable, and beautiful.
